This steering spacer fits Hilux years 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992 ,1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1998. To suit a 2” Inch or more body lift. 

– This steering column spacer is manufactured to pass New Zealand’s strict vehicle certification process. 

Purpose of a steering extension

During a body lift the steering shaft needs to be adjusted in length to suit. Once adjusted in length, on many vehicles these splined joints no longer maintain enough contact to be considered safe. The steering spacer will restore factory spline contact on the steering shaft. Functioning steering is obviously very important on a vehicle, not enough spline engagement is a safety issue and will also prevent the vehicle obtaining LVV certification for the body lift. 

Flatout offroad steering extensions can be installed with basic hand tools.
